Domain Policy

1. What's included

Both plans ($49/month and $99/month) include one standard domain while your subscription is active.

  • Standard means it costs $20/year or less to register in the first year and to renew. Most .com, .net, and .org names qualify (a .com is usually about $11/year).

  • We register it through Vercel, under our (AlphaWhiskey) account, after your first payment clears, then set it up, renew it, and manage DNS while you're subscribed.

  • Extra standard domains (for example, a .net that redirects to your .com) cost our actual cost + a $15 handling fee, paid up front after you approve a quote; renewals are billed yearly at cost.

  • If an included domain's renewal price goes up: if the renewal price of your included domain rises above $20/year (for example, a registry price increase), we'll email you at least 30 days before it renews. You can choose to (a) pay the amount above $20 at our actual cost, with no handling fee; (b) switch your site to a new standard-priced domain, which we set up at no charge; or (c) move the domain elsewhere, and we'll waive the $50 transfer fee. If we don't hear from you before the renewal date, we'll renew it so your site stays online and bill you the amount above $20.

  • Free email forwarding: while you're subscribed, we can forward addresses at your domain (for example, info@yourdomain.com) to an inbox you already use, through ForwardEmail. On the free ForwardEmail setup, the destination address is listed in your domain's public DNS records, so anyone who looks can see it. Tell us if you'd prefer a destination address you don't mind being public.

2. Premium domains

A domain is "premium" if the registry prices it higher, it's being resold on the aftermarket, it uses a pricier extension (such as .io, .co, .ai, .law), or it renews above $20/year.

  • Price: our actual cost + a flat $15 handling fee per purchase.
  • We quote first. The quote shows first-year price, renewal price, and our fee. We only buy after you approve it in writing (email is fine).
  • You pay the first year up front. The $20 included allowance doesn't apply; a premium domain replaces your included domain.
  • Renewals are billed yearly at cost, with notice before each renewal and before any registry price increase.
  • Aftermarket purchases also include any escrow or marketplace fees at cost, can take days or weeks, and are non-refundable once completed.

3. Bring your own domain

Already have one? Use it at no charge. Keep it at your registrar and keep paying them for renewals. We'll make DNS changes if you give us access, or send step-by-step instructions. You can transfer it to us instead; if it's standard-priced it becomes your included domain. There's no discount for bringing your own.

4. If a suggested domain gets taken

Domains we suggest for your preview aren't reserved until your first payment clears. If one gets taken or turns out to be premium, we'll tell you, offer at least 3 available standard-priced alternatives, and switch your site to your pick at no charge — or quote the original on the aftermarket under Section 2.

5. Registration and cancellation

  • Domains we register for your site (included, extra, or premium) are registered under our account and managed as part of our service. We don't automatically hand over the transfer code when you cancel.
  • Domain transfer option: On cancellation, we'll provide the domain's transfer code for a one-time transfer fee of $50. If you don't transfer it, we keep the domain until its current registration expires, and then it lapses.
  • Most domains can't move registrars for 60 days after registration or a prior transfer (ICANN rule); if you pay the transfer fee during that window, we provide the code once the lock ends.
  • If you take the 14-day first-month refund, we keep the actual cost of any domain already registered, and the transfer option above applies.
  • Domains you bring yourself (Section 3) stay at your registrar and are never ours.
